Brief Description
Metal urn style trophy with lid. Oval shaped plate at front of trophy is engraved and reads 'THE/MELBOURNE/SPORTS DEPOT/CRICKET TROPHIES/SEASON 1894.5/MATTING COMPETITION/RUNNERS UP TROPHY/WON BY/NORTHCOTE C.C'. A relief image of an angel blowing a horn appears on each side of the plate, with one arm resting above the plate and the other holding the horn. Trophy is decorated with a floral pattern. Lid of trophy has a decorative finial in the shape of a man. The man is dressing in armour, and is leaning on a decorative shield with his right hand with his left hand outstretched above his head.
