Brief Description
Trophy in the form of a silver plated fish slice and fork, in velvet and silk lined presentation case. Engraving on fish slice reads 'M.C.G. 1898./DROP KICK. 1ST PRIZE/WON BY DAVID COUPER'. Fish slices and fork are engraved with decorative floral patterns. Maker's markings near top of handle on both fish slice and fork indicate they were made in Sheffield by silver plate makers Harrison Brothers & Howson. Inside base of case is lined with velvet and contains customised storage recesses for both fish slice and fork. Maroon velvet lining inside lid of case is printed with the text 'JAMES CRICHTON & COMPY/GOLDSMITHS/47 GEORGE ST./EDINBURGH'.Top of case is decorated by a thin gold rectangular border. Case is fastened by a button latch at front. Two stickers adhered to bottom of case - one circular and one rectangular. Rectangular sticker is from an auction house.
