Brief Description
White envelope. Envelope is addressed to 'Mr and Mrs Ron Gould & Shane/Sydney, Australia', with instructions to the postmaster to return the letter if it has not reached its destination in 30 days. The envelope was sent by Michael J Thurman from Texas, USA. The envelop carries three US 11c stamps featuring an image of a white jet plane on a red ground, and eight green US 1c stamps featuring a portrait of Thomas Jefferson. Scribbled notes on the front of the envelope (and postmark on reverse) indicate that an attempt was made to deliver the letter to Turramurra before it was delivered to the Gould family in Pymble, NSW. The sender's instructions to return the letter if delivery is unsuccessful within 30 days are repeated on reverse.
