Brief Description
Menu for British Sportsman's Club Luncheon to The Australian Cricket Team 1948, hosted by the Chairman The Rt. Hon. Lord Abermare at the Savoy Hotel, London, Tuesday, 20th April, 1948. On the back there is a list of toasts, including toasts to Hm The King and to D. G. Bradman. Esq. The cardboard menu has printed text on its cover, reads, "Greetings! The LEAP we always LOOK for because - one of our dearest relatives comes HOME". The cover illustration is of a jumping kangaroo dressed in cricket whites and shoes and holding a cricket bat while an MCC cricket player has his arms out ready to catch the leaping kangaroo, Australia can be seen in the distance. It is signed by the illustrator and dated 1948.
