Brief Description
Wooden shield shaped trophy with metal plaques. Shield shaped plaque at centre has a decorative floral border and is engraved with the MCC logo and the text 'LAWN TENNIS/PRESENTED BY/MEMBERS OF THE M.C.C.L.T. COMMITTEE 1912-13/TO BE WON THREE TIMES'. Scroll shaped plaque at top is engraved with the text 'AUTUMN MIXED DOUBLES CHAMP'. There are five small circular plaques along bottom edge of front of plaque, along with a hole indicating that a sixth plaque is missing. Circular plaques are engraved with names of winners of the trophy. First circular plaque from left to right reads 'A. O'HARA WOOD/1915/MISS WAXMAN'. Second circular plaque reads 'MISS P.A.STEWART/1913/A.CAMPBELL'. Third circular plaque reads 'MISS L.GYTON/1914/R.LYCETT'. Fourth circular plaque reads 'MISS D.SCHLESINGER/1920/P.O'HARA WOOD'. Fifth circular plaque reads 'MRS R.W.HOPE/1922/P.O'HARA WOOD'. Eyelets screwed into top of reverse of shield, with wire attached to allow for hanging.
