Brief Description
Gold medal won by Sid Patterson for 1st place in the World Amateur Sprint Championships in Copenhagen, 1949. Obverse features 33 miniature enamel flags. Central section and scroll at lower edge contains text in gold and blue that reads "FONDEE / EN / 1900 / UNION CYCLISTE INTERNATIONALE 1949 / 1ER PRIX". Reverse features female figure holding an olive branch and cyclist. Text in gold and blue reads "CHAMPIONSHIP DU MONDE / VITESSE / AMATEURS". Suspension ring at top.
