Object Detail

Brief Description
Set of eight stones used to count balls of overs in a game of cricket, used by umpire Edward Fleming in the late 1930s. The stones are of different colours, shapes and textures. The umpire would keep a record of each ball in a cricket match by transferring the stones from one hand to the other until all eight were in the one hand, signalling the end of an over.
