The tower is partially encircled by a laurel wreath and sits atop an illustration of the Olympic rings. The number '19' is painted to the left of the tower, and the number '28' is painted to the right of the tower, indicating the year 1928. Front of plate is bordered by a ring of text around the circumference, interspersed with a blue floral pattern and bordered on each side by a thin blue ring. Text around circumference reads 'CITIUS ALTIUS FORTIUS/IXe OLYMPIADE'. Reverse of plate is embossed with the markings 'B' and 'IIX' at the top of the plate, and is painted with Royal Delft markings in the centre. A string is attached to the upper reverse of the plate for hanging.
