Brief Description
Melbourne Cricket Club membership medallion (fob) with original box. Medallion features red, blue and white enamel details. Blue outer rim on front of medallion reads 'MELBOURNE/ CRICKET CLUB 1902-3' in gold text. Inner brass shield on front features blue (M), red (C) and white (C) MCC monogram with brass embellishments above and below. Reverse of medallion is engraved with the number '882' and the text 'J. R. GAUNT / & SON LTD / LONDON.' A short red, white and blue cord is threaded through the eyelet at the top of the medallion. Brass connector attached to cord. Cord is threaded onto a cardboard backing card. Front of card is printed with the text 'Melbourne Cricket Club/1902-03' in blue. Medallion and card are stored in a white cardboard box, consisting of a separate lid and base. Sticker on top of box lid reads 'Melbourne Cricket Club./1902-3./MEMBER'S PASS./882/J.R. GAUNT & SON, LTD./Badge Makers,/LONDON & BIRMINGHAM.'
