Brief Description
Oil on canvas on wood panel. Painting is a view of a grassed landscape filled with trees, with two small Aboriginal figures at lower centre. Scene is depicted against a blue sky with scattered clouds. There are two handwritten inscription on upper section of reverse. Inscription on left reads 'Police paddock/Melb - S.W./between/1862 & 1880'. Second inscription consists of a title in quotation marks and the text 'E von Guerard'. There is a white auction sticker attached to the top left hand corner of reverse. Reverse of painting is braced by four metal feet screwed into the frame. Metal D-rings attached to reverse for hanging.
