Brief Description
Object consists of two typed documents which were originally attached at the top left hand corner but have since been separated. First page is a letter written by Percy Cerutty to Jackie MacDonald, expressing his admiration for her performance at the Melbourne Olympics by professing his opinion that she was the "woman "personality" of the Melbourne Games." Letter features Percy Cerutty's letterhead at the top of the page, with motivational sayings printed along the left hand margin, and is signed at the bottom by Percy Cerutty. The second page is a poem written by Percy Cerutty in Jackie MacDonald's honour, entitled 'TO A TRULY REGAL LADY'. Poem consists of four stanzas. Handwritten text beneath the poem reads 'Written at the Olympic Stadium - Melbourne:/During the Discus Competition -/a Tribute from/Percy Cerutty/(might I say: Poet: Philosopher: Athlete:/ & Teacher of Landy, Stephens, Perry,/Thomas, - many, many, more Australians)'.
