Brief Description
Rectangular timber and metal plaque in black cardboard storage box. Base of plaque is wooden and has been painted black. Main facing of plaque is gold coloured metal. Centre of plaque carries a large, raised representation of the Australian Olympic Committee logo, featuring the Australian coat of arms set above the five Olympic rings, encircled by a laurel wreath. Raised rectangular plaque affixed beneath logo carries text which reads 'Presented to/Melbourne Cricket Club/In appreciation of your valued support of the/Australian Olympic Team for the/ XXX Olympic Games, London 2012/Prime Minister's Olympic Dinner/June 23, 2012'. Of this text, the words 'Melbourne Cricket Club' are engraved whilst the rest of the text is in raised lettering. Reverse of plaque has been made with two wooden slots for affixing the plaque to a stand or wall. Cardboard box is plain black, with a white sticker at the top left hand corner of the top of the lid which is printed with text reading 'Melbourne Cricket Club'.
