Brief Description
Circular bronze coloured metal medallion, with plastic case covered in felt. Front of medal features a design consisting of a cricket ball superimposed over a set of cricket stumps. A kangaroo (representing Australia) and a lion with a sword (representing Sri Lanka) face each other across the seam of the ball. Text around circumference on front of medal reads 'AUSTRALIA V SRI LANKA/BELLERIVE OVAL DECEMBER 16-20 1989'. Reverse of medal carries an inscription which reads 'Presented to/AUSTRALIAN/CRICKET BOARD/by the/Tasmanian Cricket Council/commemorating the/first Test Match/to be played/in Tasmania.' A short ribbon in the Tasmanian colours of red, yellow and green is attached to the top of the medal. Plastic medal case is covered in maroon felt.
