Brief Description
Two metal medallions in a yellow, felt covered case. Medallions are bronze coloured, and feature on reverse side a representation of the MCG along with the words 'MCG/Melbourne Australia/1985/STATE OF VICTORIA - 150th ANNIVERSARY'. Reverse side of medallions also carries the World Championship of Cricket logo (a cricket ball with a trail of stars behind) and the State of Victoria 150th Anniversary logo. Front of medallions carry representations of the flags of the seven competing sides (Australia, India, Pakistan, West Indies, New Zealand, England and Sri Lanka) around the circumference of the medallion. The words 'The BENSON and HEDGES WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OF CRICKET/17.2.85 - 10.3.85.' form a ring around the central image on the front of the medallions. Centre image on one medallion features a design of a bowler in action about to deliver a ball. Centre image on other medallion features a right handed batsman playing a shot whilst a wicketkeeper watches on behind the stumps. The edges of both medallions are engraved '1985' at the bottom centre of the edge. The medals rest in a plastic base inside the case covered with green felt. White lining inside case lid is printed with the words 'MEJA INTERNATIONAL P/L / MELBOURNE'. There is a large white sticker stuck to the top of the case lid printed with the number '41'. The case is hinged.
