Brief Description
Black and white print of a building and a section of its grounds. There is a cricket game being played on the grounds in the foreground of the picture. Four figures are participating in the game, with another two figures visible in the grounds in the background and three figures watching the game from the windows of the building. Equipment being used in the cricket match is from the period and consists of a curved wooden bat and a wicket consisting of two small stumps and a bail. Writing printed under image reads 'Drawn and engraved by J. Storer/The Charter House,/LONDON/London: Published August 1, 1804, by Vernor & Hood, Poultry, J. Storer & J. Greig, Chapel Street, Pentonville.' Handwriting on reverse of image reads '53/2' (circled), 'Pub. 1804' (underlined), and 'Cricket - London schools' (underlined).
