Brief Description
White A-line style dress with a double layer of white pleats around the bottom hem. Blue piping at collar, arm cuffs, and at junction between A-line dress and pleated skirt. V shaped neckline at front, low rounded neckline at back. Left chest bears embroidered Virginia Slims motif, which consists of an image of a lady with a black skirt and yellow and black striped jumper, swinging a tennis racquet behind her back in her left hand and holding a cigarette and cigarette holder in her right hand. Fastened by metal zipper on left side. Zip is in the shape of a tennis racquet, with the letters 't t' on racquet face and the word 'NEWEY' on reverse.
Reverse of dress is plain. Tag attached to inside of dress beneath right arm reads 'teddy tinling/MADE IN ENGLAND/London'. Small button studs attached beneath shoulders of dress.
