Brief Description
Colour print of a cricket game in progress on a field, with a church and another building in the background. Seven figures can be seen in the picture. Inscription under picture reads 'TO THE Patrons, Trustees & Benefactors of the School, and to all those liberal Subscribers & Friends to the MASTER/who have honoured him with the care of their Children, THIS VIEW of the Church & School House at Northiam in Sussex/is respectfully inscribed by their most obliged & faithful servant,/Thos Mercer Harris'. Small print at bottom reads 'Published July 1st 1811, by ... Reader, Bookseller, Cranbrook'. Small text below picture on left reads 'T.D.W. Dearn, del'. Small text below picture on right reads 'C.Rosenberg, Sculpt'. Reverse carries a number of handwritten pencil marks which variously read 'A8', '5-' and '62'.
