Brief Description
Negative, image of a lithograph full-length caricature portrait of W G Grace (cricketer) against a light grey background, with grass and shadows at his feet. Grace faces the viewer directly, clasping a cricket bat under his left armpit, wearing a batting glove on his left hand and holding the other with his right. His body from the waist up is enlarged out of proportion to the lower half. He wears a white shirt with sleeves rolled up; white pants, shoes and pads, and a red and yellow striped cap and a red waist sash. The pseudonym of the artist Leslie "SPY" Ward is printed at lower right of the image. Above image is caption, "Vanity Fair'; and, "June 9 1877". Below image is publisher details, "Vincent Brooks, Day & Son".
