Brief Description
Circular silver plated ashtray. Centre of the tray is sunken. Raised outer edge of ashtray features four sunken cigarette rests at equal spaces around the tray. Back edge of ashtray is decorated with a set of vertical silver stumps. Left section of ashtray engraved with the words 'The Ashes/1948'. Front section of ashtray engraved with the words 'AUSTRALIAN XI/20TH ENGLISH TOUR/1948'. Right section of ashtray engraved with the signature of Ron A. Hamence. Bottom of ashtray features screw fastening wickets to base. Bottom centre of ashtray is engraved with 'Reliable' shield logo and the text 'M.W & W/E.P.N.S/SHEFFIELD/ENGLAND'. White rectangular sticker on base bears a handwritten number which reads '189801' in black pen.
