Brief Description
Match-used, four piece cricket ball on wooden display stand. Handwriting on one side of the ball reads "5TH TEST AUS V ENGLAND/ MELBOURNE 1951 FEB 1951/ A.V.BEDSER - 10-105" and bears the signature of Alec Bedser. Other side of the ball bears handwriting which reads "Ball USED in MATCH" and also bears the signature of Alec Bedser. Bedser took five wickets in each innings of this match, recording figures of 5/46 and 5/59. England won this match by 8 wickets to end Australia's run of 26 Tests without defeat since 1938.
