Brief Description
Reproduction of black and white photo of Harold Ball. Ball is standing in a field and facing slightly side-on to the camera, wearing a polo shirt with a shield shaped patch on the chest pocket. Caption under the picture reads, "Harold Ball". Harold Ball played for Melbourne Football Club in the VFL before enlisting in World War II. Ball served with the Army in 2/9 Field Ambulance, Australian Army Medical Corps, and was killed in active service in the Battle of Singapore in 1942. He was one of five Melbourne Football Club players to be killed during the course of World War II.
