Brief Description
Reproduction of black and white portrait photo of Syd Anderson. Anderson is pictured in military uniform. Caption under the picture reads, "Syd Anderson in R.A.A.F uniform". Syd Anderson played for Melbourne Football Club in the VFL before enlisting in World War II. Anderson enlisted with the RAAF, and reached the rank of Flying Officer before being killed in action in 1944. He was one of five Melbourne Football Club players to be killed in active service during the course of World War II.
