Brief Description
Diamond-shaped metal MCC membership medallion, the obverse featuring gilt as well as blue, red and white enamel decoration, with a blue, red and white cord attached. MCC emblem debossed in gold on blue in central diamond, the years "55 * 56" on red at top, and inscribed on white at bottom, "MELBOURNE CRICKET CLUB". Gilt leaf decoration. Inscription embossed on reverse reads, "NOT / TRANSFERABLE/ SEASON ENDS / 31ST AUG. 1956 / COUNTRY", and at centre is debossed the membership number 2126. A hallmark is embossed at bottom of medallion, "BERTRAM BROS / MELB.". Hole at top with suspension ring attached to cord.
