Framed and mounted reproduction of an albumen silver photograph by Barnett Johnstone (1832-1910). Image of Intercolonial Cricket Match at Melbourne, 1860, between New South Wales and Victoria. Picture shows a broad view of the southern side of the MCG, including the governor's enclosure in the middle of the stands. Writing under picture reads 'The Governor of the Colony (Sir Henry Barkly) was present in his Box on the Stand/and the game was stayed in situ for the photograph - but the Silver Bath not in an/amiable mood just then!!!/B.J/ Cricket Match at Melbourne, Australia, 1860/Between New South Wales & Victoria (Hot wind blowing)'.
