Object Detail

Brief Description
Oval-shaped metal MCC membership medallion, the obverse featuring blue, red, gold and white enamelling. Inscription on blue outer oval reads, "MELBOURNE CRICKET CLUB * 1941 - 1942 *", and on a diagonal white strip with red border across middle of oval is written, "M.C.C.". Gold decoration either side of the strip. Inscription embossed on reverse reads, "NOT / TRANSFERRABLE / SEASON ENDS / 31ST AUG. / 1942", and below is debossed the membership number, "C / 822". The hallmark is embossed at bottom, "K.G. LUKE / MELB". Hole at top with suspension ring attached.
