Brief Description
Queen Victoria 60th Anniversary commemorative medal awarded to William Todd. Medal is attached by a ring to an aqua and blue vertically striped ribbon. Front of medal bears profile of Queen Victoria and is inscribed "VICTORIA D.G.REGINA ET IMPERATRIX F.D.". Obverse bears a floral wreath with crown design and is inscribed "IN/COMMEMORATION/OF THE/60TH YEAR OF THE/REIGN OF QUEEN/VICTORIA/20 JUNE 1897". Edge of medal is inscribed "BALLARAT CORPL. TODD". This medal was awarded to the official Australian colonial contingents to the celebrations in England and to members of the Queensland and Victoria shooting teams to Bisley in 1897. It is an official medal within the imperial honours and awards system.
