Brief Description
1972 Olympic medallion, inscribed in German on reverse, "ZUM GEDENKEN / AN DIE ER MORDETEN OLYMPIATEILNEHMER", translated as, "In memoriam of the murdered Olympic athletes". Inscription surrounds image of the Munich Olympic Stadium and Olympic Tower.
Figure of Nike, Goddess of Victory on front, with the inscription, "XX. / OLYMPIADE / 1972 / MUNCHEN", and Olympic Rings. Loop at top of medallion for attaching a chain or ribbon.
