Green velvet cushion most likely used for medal presentations at the 1956 Olympic Games. Cushion features a central pattern of cross-hatch stitching and two coiled cream tasselled cords, one at each diagonal corner. Similar cream tasselled fringing is attached around the lower edge of the cushion. Velvet straps on the underside provide the cushion bearer with a place into which they can slide their hands.
