Brief Description
Small black and white photograph, taken of the Australian XI while sailing to South Africa on tour in 1935-36. Taken by Moira Dowling (nee Sullivan), who was a passenger on the ship. This photograph features Arthur Mailey and a man dressed in a naval uniform. Handwritten inscription on reverse reads, "The good looking one / is Arthur Mailey ' the other is the 'Chief' Engineer / whom I had to give an / account of my self / periodically - His / nickname is __-__ Chief / and he frequently gives / me the 'lowdown' on / the days run./ Good ol' Chief."
