Brief Description
Small black and white photograph, taken of the Australian XI while sailing to South Africa on tour in 1935-36. Taken by Moira Dowling (nee Sullivan), who was a passenger on the ship. This photograph features Arthur Mailey, and is signed on the front by Mailey. Handwritten inscription on reverse reads, "This is Arthur Mailey / to a tee - very down / in the dumps. He is / absolutely one __ / of the box, if circum- / stances where different ' I'd have eyes for no one / else. Enclosed you'll / find drawing Arthur / did of me in __ / moment. I say its 'me' / in case you don't recognise / it. I gave him your __ / in lead with __ __ / __. Yours truly."
