Brief Description
Photograph taken of the Australian XI while sailing to South Africa on tour in 1935-36. Taken by Moira Dowling (nee Sullivan), who was a passenger on the ship. Photograph features four men lined up against railing of the ship. Signed on front by Victor Richardson, Len Darling, Jack Fingleton and Bill Brown. Handwritten inscription on reverse reads, "Here is Len again / and Victor Richardson / Jack Fingleton is friend / of Len's. I did not have / __ to do with Len / except when we were / __ in community / singing. His singing / is about as good as mine / although I discovered / mine improves __ / after the second cocktail. / Bill Brown is foolish / in Len's opinion / __. I like him / but he's empty."
