Brief Description
Cricket ball given to J Elliott Monfries, who kept wickets for Victoria in 1903 season. Was awarded for his wicket keeping efforts against Lord Hawkes XI on 13th March 1903 and is inscribed, "LORD HAWKES / XI V VICTORIA / 13TH MARCH 1903 / JE MONFRIES / CAUGHT 3 STUMPED 2 / IN ONE INNINGS/ ALL CHANCES TAKEN". Mounted on seperate wooden plinth.
