Brief Description
Black and white photograph mounted to light brown card. Image is of four women dressed in light blouses and long dark skirts (2 seated, 2 standing), holding three tennis racquets in front of a large pennant flag that reads, "LADIES PENNANT / 189[8]". Two of the women wear wide brimmed straw hats, and those seated are sitting on a ornate bench seat that appears to be painted to look as though it is made of stone. Printed red text above the photograph reads, "St. KILDA LAWN TENNIS CLUB. / Winners of Ladies' Premiership Pennant, 1898.". Printed red text below the photograph reads, "MISS WATSON MISS PRICE / MISS C. PRICE MISS B. WATSON". In the bottom left corner of the mount card is printed "The [F?or T?]ALK STUDIOS" and in the bottom right corner is printed "92, 94 E / [HYDE PARK?]". On the reverse, in the top left corner is handwritten in pencil, "[1602ap?]".
