Object Detail

Brief Description
Photograph taken of the Australian XI while sailing to South Africa on tour in 1935-36. Taken by Moira Dowling (nee Sullivan) , who was a passenger on the ship. This photograph features passengers playing quoits. Handwritten inscription on reverse reads: "This is a typical deck scene / the large person on the right - / believe it or not is yours truly - / although I've lost 2lbs I'm still / very disillusioned. I decided / to take up rickshaw riding / preferably for complaint. The rhythmical movement from hips down / fascinates me & perhaps it'll do the trick."
