The bat is signed by Bradman and Sykes with an inscription in ink reading, "Used by Don Bradman in scoring 123 and 37 no Australia vs England 5th test Melbourne 1929." The bat has a paper label stuck to the front, typed caption reads, "Used by Don Bradman Australia 1928 - 48."
