Brief Description
Bone china plate, issued by Royal Worcester to commemorate visit by the 1938 Australian Cricket Team. White/cream glaze, heavy raised gilt border 15mm wide with embossed foliation; in centre are gilded facsimile signatures of players in the Australian Cricket Team 1938. On base: Royal Worcester crest; "THE SIGNATURES OF / THE AUSTRALIAN TOURING ELEVEN, / TO COMMEMORATE THEIR VISIT TO / THE WORCESTER ROYAL PORCELAIN WORKS / ON MAY 3RD, 1938."; and handwritten in red glaze: "z / 1827 / x".
