Brief Description
Product sample from the Kenworth Rubber Sole company of two black rubber soles. The Kenworth Rubber Sole company manufactured the first non slip rubber soles for football boots in 1952. Each sole is marked with "Kenworth Safety Sole" on the base. The Australian Rugby League team used this rubber product on their boots for their 1952 overseas tour. A letter dated 9th November 1951, accompanying these soles, outlines the agreement made between Mr Cranch and Kenworth Rubber regarding the development and sale of this product.
