Brief Description
Three plates, two goblets and a champagne glass that were manufactured for the Prime Minister's Olympic Dinner on the 9th of September 2000.
The plates are white, circular, thick ceramic with decal in centre in gold-colour and deep red glaze. Laurel wreath design containing Australia's coat of arms positioned above Olympic rings in deep red, left of the gold printed text "The / Australian / Prime / Minister's / Olympic / Dinner / Saturday. 9th. September. 2000."
Goblets have a bulbous bowl that sits on a moulded "2000" design stem which is in turn on a lightly fluted pattern circular base. Etched into glass on side of bowl is laurel leaf wreath containing Australian coat of arms positioned above Olympic rings, in central position above an inscription that reads in part "Prime Minister's Olympic Dinner / Royal Exhibition Building - Melbourne..."
Champagne glass is a tall, clear glass conical bowl on moulded "2000" designed stem that in turn sits on a circular base that has a fluted pattern.
All of these objects are housed in their original box that is white and thick with deep red and dull gold-coloured printing on four sides. Top interlinks to form handle.
