Brief Description
A first day cover, issued in Olympia, Greece, on 02 November, 1956, commemorating the transportation of the Olympic Flame from Athens to Australia on a Qantas aeroplane, during the 1956 Olympic Games Torch Relay. Two Greek stamps and two Greek postmarks feature on the front. Left side of cover features an illustration of a flaming Olympic torch, behind coloured Olympic rings, banked by 'ATHENS TO/AUSTRALIA' and 'OLYMPIC/TORCH'FLIGHT'. Red oval with white 'QANTAS' at base. A commemorative mark from Australia features on the back.
