Brief Description
Remote control unit (model PTCA 406) used to control the transmitter/receiver for the marathon, during the 1956 Olympic Games. Used in conjunction with a small hand-held black and chrome microphone with wooden handle and black cord with single plug end. The transmitter is housed in a polished wooden box with rounded corners. Cream recess on side with brass-coloured metal insert. In centre of metal insert is small circular badge, red background with "PYE" in silver letters. Back is open, exposing mechanics. Black electrical cord coming from back.
