Brief Description
1972 Munich Olympic Games relay torch. A cylindrical shaft, with 6 small holes spaced evenly near top. This shaft contains the lighting mechanism within, which lit the flame using 24% propane and 76% butane gas. Attached below is a broad circular platform - flanged on the underside. On top of platform is a superimposed lightning spiral design in opaque and polished steel. Flange tapers down to handgrip, with the opaque text: 'München 1972' preceded by 5 Olympic rings. On the other side is printed: 'Spiele der XX. Olympiade'. Handgrip is sealed with cap, with 6 raised vertical lines around circumference. Underside of cap is inscription: 'KRUPP' with 3 interlocked rings. Interior of cap is engraved: 'hagri', followed by the company address.
