Brief Description
Twelve stamps on a black background behind glass with black adhesive plastic forming frame and backing. There are two of each of the six stamp series' commemorating the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games. The pairs are: one featuring an illustration of a Melbourne street scene (1 Shilling stamp x2); one featuring an illustration of the Melbourne skyline from the banks of the Yarra River (2 Shillings stamp x2); one featuring a flaming torch with the Southern Cross constellation (7-and-a-half Pence stamp x2); one featuring the Olympic "Postcard" poster illustration, on a green background (2 Shillings stamp x2); one featuring the Olympic "Postcard" poster illustration, on a blue background (2 Shillings stamp x2);, and one featuring the City of Melbourne coat-of-arms (4 Pence stamp x2).
