Brief Description
White folded card with attached print of Japanese woman. White and orange string looped and tied at card fold. Handwriting in black above and below illustration. Fine red border on front. Inside left-small coloured enamel olympic rings stick pin; 7 postage stamps from Australia (X2) and Korea (X5), 2 coloured enamel badges from the U.S.A. and Japan Olympic Teams, respectively; and 7 ticker (tele)tape transmissions. Inside right are signatures of American Associated Press staff, German, Spanish, Russian, and other correspondents. Presented by the A.A.P., to Philippa Cavanagh, who was a Melbourne to San Francisco telephone operator for the A.A.P., based at the M.C.G., during the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games.
