Brief Description
First day cover; white commemorative envelope featuring a colour illustration the five events of the modern pentathlon. The inscription, above and below: "XXVIII WORLD / MODERN / PENTATHLON / CHAMPION- / SHIPS // MELBOURNE 1985". To the right is a circular stamp in black ink, bearing text, images of pentathlon events, and the date 12 August 1985. A stamp is adhered to the upper right corner, featuring an image of William Dampier. On verso is a brief history on the origins of the Modern Pentathlon.
