Around the rim is an inscription within a blue enamel field, reading: BRITISH EMPIRE & COMMONWEALTH GAMES/PERTH-WESTERN AUSTRALIA-1962. Attached to the base of the badge is a blue ribbon, with the gold text: ORGANISING/COUNCIL.
