Brief Description
A 46-page, blue hard back book, with a golden label adhered to the front cover, containing an image of the ancient 'Discus Thrower' and the Olympic Rings, with the text: XVI OLYMPIAD/1956. Title page reads: MELBOURNE'S/OLYMPIC GAMES/INVITATION. This prospectus was issued by the Melbourne Olympic Bid Committee as an invitation to the I.O.C. promoting the City as a candidate for the 1956 Games, which it eventually won.
