Medal won by Ivan Stedman for first place in a 3 mile swim at the V.A.S.A. competition in 1946. Medal is gold and bears a blue enamelled shield with the Southern Cross. It is surmounted by a crown and surrounded by a laurel wreath. Text in legend reads "VICTORIAN AMATEUR SWIMMING ASSOCIATION". Reverse features wreath surrounding text that reads "VICTORIAN / 3 Mile / Fastest Time. / CHAMPIONSHIP / I.Stedman. / 1.21.2 / 1946.".
