Brief Description
A certificate and a letter of thanks with receipt attached, both items issued by AGOS on 8 September 1986, to Mr Allan Hughes. The certificate features the AGOS logo, green, blue and white with kangaroo and stars. Printed and inscribed text reads, "This is to certify that / Allan L. Hughes / has been registered as a Founding Member of the / Gallery by contributing towards the acquisition, / preservation and display of sporting historiana, thereby / helping to enrich Australia's great sporting tradition. / Acknowledged on behalf of the / Australian Gallery of Sport by: / W.J. (Bill) O'Reilly Betty Cuthbert / Authorised / on behalf of / the Gallery of Trustees / by Sir Henry Bolte, / Foundation Chairman". The certificate is dated and numbered, "688 / 8.9.86", and is signed by O'Reilly, Cuthbert and Bolte. The letter with receipt attached thanks Mr Hughes for the donation he made. Receipt is for the sum of $100, it is printed with green ink on cream paper and bears the AGOS logo in the top LH corner, there is a number printed in red ink in the bottom centre, "0528".
