Brief Description
Lawn bowls, set of four, black, in original housing; each bowl features ivory inserts at each end with scrimshaw inscriptions: "1", "2", "3", and "4" respectively. Used circa 1908 by James McGregor Gillespie. Bowls are contained in original housing: two heavy cardboard boxes partitioned to hold two bowls each. Each bowl is seated in loose sawdust, also part of the original packaging. Label on side of boxes: "CAUTION ABOUT STORING BOWLS."
