Brief Description
Black and white head shot of Stan McCabe circa 1936, wearing cricket hat, his signature printed on front. Hand written letter on reverse in black ink. Written by Stan McCabe to a Miss Moss prior to leaving for Test in Melbourne, text reads, "Dear Miss Moss, / Before I settle down / to the next Test, I want to / make sure you won't let me / down with those Golden Chest / tickets - Remember? / The Prizes are valued at 3000[pound sterling] / the cost of a ticket is only 1/- [1 shilling] / and the drawing is on January 14, 1937. / Please send your butts and / money by December 30, / when I leave for Melbourne. / I'll do my best to make a / big score for Australia. / Can I depend on you? / Sincerely / Stan McCabe".
